Once more, unto the Breach

One of the big things in life, in all of our lies, is responsibility.

Responsibility….

  • to do the right thing
  • to attend to our duties
  • to not procrastinate
  • to not give up
  • to listen
  • to be truthful
  • to oneself and to others
  • to do the right thing.

And as a result, the failure of some to take a few moments to exercise responsibility has lead themselves and others to misfortune.

When you don’t have the responsibility to do the right thing, then you end up doing the wrong thing. You end up half-assing what needs to be done creating more problems for yourself.

When you don’t attend to your duties, you let people who are counting on your down.

When you procrastinate, little things can become large problems overnight.

When you give up, you fail and loose.

When you don’t listen, you give up knowledge. And once you give up knowledge, how can you make the right choice with the right knowledge.

When you are not truthful and not responsible in telling the truth, you break trust and when you do that, you can never get it back.

When you’re not responsible to yourself and to the ones around you, then how can you be trusted?

I ask myself these questions, not because I question myself but because I question those around me who are trusted with the mantle of leadership and all I can do is ask, “Why aren’t they asking themselves these questions.”
